At the Texas A&M’s Rho Chapter one of our three pillars is “missions”. To fulfill this pillar we volunteer and support surrounding churches and ministries in the Bryan/College Station area. We do this by reaching out to these organizations and offering up our time and manpower to support them with whatever they need. It is our mission to reach the nations with the good news of God’s merciful love.
From 2010 to 2019, KYX partnered with FMSC (Feed My Starving Children) to host MobilePack events. We would prepare for these events by raising money and awareness of the worldwide nourishment issues that haunt communities across the globe. After raising enough money, we would host the MobilePack event, during which FMSC representatives would bring crates of supplies for volunteers to pack for shipment across over 70 countries.
In March 2019, our fraternity transitioned to a new philanthropy, SOS Ministries (Save Our Streets), that directly impacts the Bryan/College Station area. The SOS Ministries seeks to “rescue, restore, and release” individuals and families struggling with drug and/or gang-affiliated environments by providing sanctuary and spreading the love of Christ. Some of the ways SOS does this is by hosting Block Parties to raise money and awareness of these issues, visiting prisons, hosting bible studies for children/youth/adults, hosting after school ministries for kids, and many other programs.
We are very excited to pursue this new relationship and support our philanthropy through volunteering our time and money. If you would like to partner with us in our mission, you can give online. You can also join us in College Station to be a part of the many volunteers who come out to help us support SOS. Ultimately, our purpose is to spread Christ’s name across the campus of Texas A&M and among the nations, and we would be incredibly grateful if you would partner with us in this pursuit.
